Well it’s been a long time since theSGL hosted a CZ competition, but now its decided maybe we can get a few more cups out of CZ and have today announced the latest in their cup series. This event is as the title explains above From Russia With Love.
We know, we know, a cheesy take on James Bond and I’m sure we’ll see one or two attempts at ninja defusing! The maps are all in some way related to Russia. Starting the first round (presuming 16 clans sign up) on de_nuke, you can instantly see where the relation is.
The second round will go into corruption, another tenuous link, but still a link all the same. The third round will see the snow covered de_ruska, before a final set up on the obviously completely Russian map de_vostok_cz.
They aren’t the most played maps in CZ, but I’m sure you’ll like the different maps anyway!

• GBGL wants you to decide what you want to play in the 2on2 pistols cup
After the recent changes at GBGL that had many questioning wither or not it will stay alive and kicking the CZ admin team have decided to ask you what maps you would like to play in the up coming 2on2 pistols cup.
Many of you have already told GBGL what you want to play in this thread on GBGL’s forums and the admin team have put down into a list of 10 maps for you to pick from and we here at CZUK are hosting the poll where your votes will decide what maps are used.
The poll can be found here so please take the time to vote for a map but be quick because it ends on Sunday at 5pm on the dot.
Following the recent coverage GBGL has got them self’s (from me as well) this is taking one step into the right direction, and im sure that ThaiGR is going to live up to the standards that Wilma worked so hard to build.
Remember the poll is here and any thoughts or comments you would like to voice can be done here on GBGL’s forums.
Today we see a bizarre twist in the saga of Wilma. Having left GBGL last week it appears that she may have hooked up with ED. The rumour was started when she received OP status in both the Enemydown.cz and EDADMINs irc room’s.
This also comes after we heard rumours she had once rejected an offer to work as an ED CZ admin. Whether the rumour is true or not will be answered in the next few days.

• GBGL Announce CZ Old School Cup
The new head admin of GBGL CZ, thaigr, has today announced a new GBGL Cup.
The first of many!, the new CZ Head announces his first cup, the “Old School” Cup, consisting of, yep, you guessed it, the old school maps! This cup will consist of 16 teams all battling it out over 4 weeks! However, there is unfortunately no prize for this cup, you still get to play the best GBGL has to offer!
Dates
- Applications will be open straight away.
- Applications will be closed 07/07/08.
- Teams will be announced 07/07/08.
- The cup will begin on 09/07/08 and holds 4 rounds (4 weeks). Matches starts at 8pm sharp on every wednesday.
